YOUR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

You discover.
You request. You evaluate.

Start with the decision your farm needs to make. Trial a manageable amount against a familiar variety before considering a wider commercial planting.

01

Discover a candidate

Browse the dedicated trial list. Read the variety profile and consider your own growing conditions and target market. Or suggest a variety you have found elsewhere.

02

Request for your farm

Register as a member and provide your location, system, planting date, market, requested seed count, check variety and trial objective. Your request is private.

03

Review and agree supply

AgriCart reviews identity, supplier terms, seed supply and any import permissions. We may ask for more information. Review the offered amount, R145 shipping, delivery and trial conditions in My requests before accepting.

04

Allocate and record

After agreement, AgriCart records allocation and dispatch. Plan your comparison in a private notebook. Record establishment, harvest weights, rejects and quality over the same period for the candidate and check.

05

Decide what comes next

Review saleable output, crop quality, practical costs and buyer acceptance in context. A good result on one farm is a useful observation, not a guarantee for another area or season.

Choose for your business, then test the fit.

Commercial variety decisions should consider buyer specifications and market access alongside planting season, growing system, local disease pressure, maturity, harvest continuity, grade and shelf life. Ask what the seed costs relative to the saleable crop, rather than judging only the seed price.

Use a familiar check, comparable plots and the same management and harvest criteria. Record plot area and all harvests, including rejects and interruptions. For conclusions across locations or statistically supported claims, arrange a suitable replicated design and qualified analysis before planting.

Evaluation and promotion have different purposes.

Seed companies test candidates before release, learn from growers and demonstrate new introductions to customers. AgriCart gives you a place to initiate a request and keep your own observations. A supplier description or demonstration remains attributed evidence; it is not automatically independent local proof.

Grower results are private by default. Sharing results or using a grower’s name in marketing needs separate permission. There is no paid ranking in this trial list.

Seed access still needs agreement.

Development seed has no seed charge. You pay only R145 flat shipping per approved request, arranged after approval and before dispatch. Requests are reviewed individually and do not guarantee allocation. Supplier rights, seed treatment, traceability, delivery and applicable import conditions need individual review. A trial request does not authorise an import or commercial release.
