Map your comparison before planting
Describe plot positions and areas, label varieties clearly and plan how to handle field differences.
Draw a simple field map
Mark each variety and the area assigned to it. Record planting dates, row spacing and the number of plants where possible. Use labels that remain readable at harvest so that measurements can be assigned to the correct plot.
Notice uneven conditions
Shade, slope, wet areas and differences in previous management can affect a comparison. Describe those differences in the plan. Avoid giving a candidate an obvious advantage and then treating the result as a variety effect.
Match the design to the decision
A small grower comparison can support your next practical step. If you need statistical conclusions, a replicated design or a recommendation for other farms, seek help designing the trial before planting. The AgriCart notebook stores your records; it does not perform a statistical trial analysis.
